Leybold USA Systems & Solutions Manufacturing Engineer/Planning Intern

Location: Export, PA 15632

Wage: $21 per hour

In-Office: M-F 8AM - 5PM EST

This internship will run from June 9, 2025 to August 15, 2025

  • The Systems & Solutions Manufacturing Engineer/Planning Intern will assist in organization of documents, data entry, reporting, revision of standardized routings, project material releases, planning for material storage and flow, and help to identify opportunities to improve processes around the activities of assembly. 

Main Responsibilities:

Clerical: 

  • Scan system documents and organize them in appropriate SharePoint folders. 

  • Input serial numbers into SAP. 

Planning: 

  • Retrieve exception reports for orders in the OOB from SAP. 

  • Update the Master Log. 

  • Run Kan Ban Dash reports. 

Manufacturing Engineering: 

  • Review and revise standardized routings. 

  • Plan and execute material release for all projects, with a focus on complex projects. 

  • Develop a plan for material storage and flow. 

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes around assembly activities. 

  • Implement these improvement opportunities within the 2–3-month assignment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally at risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  

  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within office building, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.  

  

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5-10 pounds. This position requires frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  

  

This position requires occasional travel for 5% of the position, results of overnight or multiple days.   

  

This position requires 100% in office work.

Sills/Knowledge/Experience:

Education level:

  • Must be a Junior or Senior Engineering student at an accredited college or university.  

Relevant Previous experience:   

  • No experience required  

Knowledge areas/Skills:   

  • Good analytical and creative problem-solving skills to develop solutions to exceptional problems outside the box.  

  • Self-motivates, independent, flexible, organized, and methodical.  

  • Results driven: Utilize ambition and effort to achieve results and accept accountability.  

  • Be adaptable in a new environment.  

Other requirements:  

  • Must be able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S. for the summer.
