The program is open to university students with a strong academic background and a passion for innovation. Applicants should be enrolled at a university during the application process.

You can apply online through the Atlas Copco Group careers page. The selection process includes submitting your resume, completing an online application form, and possibly an assessment. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

The plan is to open the program back up in 2026. Stay tuned.

Interns gain professional experience, participate in international projects, receive mentorship, and have the chance to develop personally through workshops. There is also an opportunity to work on a Master’s thesis if applicable.

Yes, the internships are compensated according to local market standards. Additional support includes mentoring, professional development opportunities, and access to learning resources.

The program offers placements across multiple global locations, including Sweden, Germany, and the United States and more. Applicants should apply in the regions where they have the right to work. 

The Strategic Business Challenge is a virtual project where interns collaborate on real-world business cases related to Industrial Technique and come to the final week of the internship in Sweden to present to their projects to the management team of the business area. Groups are assigned a sponsor and mentor for guidance, working together from May to August on innovative projects.

The hours offered as part of the work experience will be decided by the local market with a minimum of 20 hours/part-time offered. All interns will need to commit to dedicating at least 5 hours per week to work with their peers to complete the strategic business challenge during the program. Applicants should bear in mind that they will be working in a global context, taking into the consideration the time zones their team members may be located in. Our organization spans across locations from America, Europe and across to Asia. 

The internships are hosted by our local markets who will offer the final mode of working for interns, with many being hybrid. The program itself includes a blend of in-person and virtual activities, allowing interns to collaborate with peers globally while gaining flexibility in their work arrangements.

Each intern is paired with a mentor who provides guidance, feedback, and support throughout the program. Mentors help with professional development and are available for regular check-ins.

Yes, students have the option to work on a Master’s thesis during the internship, addressing industry-relevant topics that provide a fresh perspective on business challenges.

The final week includes a presentation to management in Sweden, showcasing your project outcomes. Interns also have the chance to network with peers and leaders during this time. We aim to create a diverse talent pipeline within our organization and consider how interns can continue their professional journey within ITBA. Depending on local needs and overall performances of interns, we encourage local markets to explore opportunities for interns to continue their journeys with us.
