Stockholm, Sweden, April 12, 2013: Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire the assets of Saltus-Werk Max Forst GmbH, a manufacturer of mechanical and electric torque solutionsbased in Germany.

Founded in 1919, Saltus has about 65 employees and had revenues in 2012 of about MEUR 8 (MSEK 70). The company manufactures and sells a wide range of products for quality assurance in tightening, including mechanical, mechatronic and electronic wrenches as well as special sockets.
Saltus has a strong customer base primarily in the German automotive industry, and it has a big potential globally.
“Quality demands from industrial manufacturers are steadily increasing and this acquisition strengthens our position in quality assurance,” said Mats Rahmström, Business Area President for Atlas Copco Industrial Technique. “It extends our product and service offers to the motor vehicle segment and general industry, and ensures we become a more complete supplier of torque wrenches within quality assurance.”
