The Role

We are looking for a passionate and committed Product Owner who will manage the domain platform and products within the IT Business Applications Domain. The Product Owner is responsible for the lifecycle of the products and applications along the relevant business processes. As the Product Team is supporting different operations and as such it is business critical, we are looking for a strong and experienced candidate who can lead this track. As a product owner, you will be tasked with shaping and monitoring the product landscape within the organization. You work closely with your team of internal and external resources to ensure the availability of sound technical documentation and training material. 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities  

Business, stakeholders, and team alignment 

  • You own the product domain landscape on a global level and influence its use within the Compressor Technique Business Area
  • You know your stakeholders and your value proposition. You talk to the divisions and the relevant business entities and their departments to understand their processes and needs in digitalization.
  • You define a solution for a business problem, together with your team members, and other supporting people or services. Understanding the business processes is crucial in this role. 
  • You have accountability for products and applications in scope, securing governance through the key users / experts within the business.
    You act as the main point of contact between the stakeholders and the development team(s).
  • You work in close cooperation with different people (like key users, project members and management) to analyze the business requirements in scope and to translate them into digital solutions that can be developed and implemented. 
  • You are able to communicate with the business regarding product backlog priorities and clearly set delivery timelines. 
  • You are able to keep the product scope in line with the business and data strategy. 
  • You guarantee a qualitative delivery in line with agreed timing and budget. 
  • You are able to present the product increments to business to get necessary feedback and plan the next increments accordingly. 

Product Development 

  • You secure the demand intake process and prioritize the product backlog with the team, being responsible for the end-to-end delivery. 
  • You ensure that the product backlog is updated, and the user stories are in a ready state for development. 
  • You help in establishing short and long-term data domain product roadmaps.  
  • You are able to lead projects from feasibility study until closure. 
  • You are able to create close collaboration and answer questions from the development team during the development phase. 
  • You are able to set milestones and track the progress towards the release of a product. 
  • You make an aftercare and support governance structure available for your products. 
  • You are able to capture best practices and increase the data maturity within your domain. 
  • You demonstrate good communications and negotiation skills as you also need to interact with suppliers. 

What we expect of you? 

The ideal candidate will have a good blend of business and data technical skills. Specific requirements for this position include: 

  • You have a university degree in business, engineering, economics, informatics or equal by experience 
  • You have strong leadership skills next to very strong analytical skills 
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a large industrial organization and with stakeholder management, business requirement analysis and design 
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in people management 
  • You are able to translate business requirements into functional deliverables for the development team 
  • You preferably have experience in working in an agile environment
  • Experience in different IT technologies .NET, Python, SQL and reporting are strong assets 
  • You are customer oriented, enthusiastic, and professional 
  • You are a strong communicator with excellent presentation skills 
  • You can work under pressure and are flexible 
  • You have a proactive attitude and always strive for continuous improvement 
  • You are able to cooperate with different levels in the organization, with different people and cultures 
  • You are a team player, able to motivate people 
  • You understand the dynamics of change management
