Trade compliance commitments
Atlas Copco Group complies with economic sanction programs and embargoes in each country where we operate. We are committed to conducting business in compliance with all applicable international trade, export control and economic sanctions regulations and regimes.
As stipulated in our Code of Conduct, we commit to follow international treaties and agreements on non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, missile technology, chemical and biological weapons. We comply with all applicable international trade, export control and economic sanctions regulations and regimes.
We are committed to ensuring that goods and services that are being exported or imported are classified in a correct manner to ensure proper custom’s declarations and that all necessary permits are obtained, and duties paid.
Atlas Copco Group expects our customers and business partners to comply with all applicable export controls, including for example when transferring our products or incorporating our products into their own or another party’s products. By signing our Business Partner Criteria, our significant suppliers and distributors commit to complying with our trade compliance obligations as stated in our Code of Conduct.
Distributor compliance
We rely on distributors in many markets and it is important that they represent our business also from a governance perspective. All suppliers in high-risk markets and all suppliers meeting certain sales thresholds in other markets must commit to our Code of Conduct by signing our Business Partner Criteria document.
All our divisions set their own global sales strategy which is adapted to local market needs by our customer centers. The sales strategies include choice of sales channels and distributor management. Marketing Councils exist in all four business areas to ensure cross-divisional alignment and the development of central policies and tools, including programs for distributor assessment and certification.
