Your role:

It is the policy of our Vacuum Technique business area to comply with import and export laws and regulations of all countries in which we operate. Due to the international nature of our business, we are subject to many jurisdictional laws.  The Trade Compliance team supports the business in achieving compliance with all applicable import/export control requirements by implementing an internal trade compliance program for all Vacuum Technique global operations.   As our Trade Compliance Specialist you will cover all aspects of Trade compliance process management in Belgium, at the location of VTBA’s Distribution Centre in Hoeselt.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Belgian export control process, as well as the global classification team:

  • Preparing and submitting the dual-use export license applications
  • Supporting any HS and ECCN classification requests
  • Liaising with local authorities throughout application process (Strategic Goods Control Unit – CSG)
  • Monitoring any local regulatory changes
  • Internal audits of above processes
  • Reviewing GTS order holds for release
  • Supporting the EU Trade Compliance manager with other tasks (checks on end-users etc)

 To succeed, you will:

      •  Have three years plus of trade compliance experience. This is to include sound knowledge of EU dual-use regulations, BE export licensing, trade sanctions

      •  Be fluent in English and Dutch/Flemish

      •  Possess knowledge of the Digital Portal of SGCD (licensing application portal)

      •  Have EU HTS and ECCN (dual use) classification experience

      •  Be ERP and manufacturing systems literate -SAP GTS experience preferred

      •  Have knowledge of how global trade compliance fits with international operations, logistics and supply  chain management

•  Stay updated with relevant export control and customs regulations

You will be the key point of contact for our Belgian distribution centre and will be required to be based on-site in the DC in Belgian.
