Stockholm, Sweden, February 17, 2011: Atlas Copco’s subsidiary Aire Comprimido Industrial Iberia, S.L., has agreed to acquire certain assets of ABAC Catalunya, a long-serving distributor of ABAC compressors in Northeastern Spain. The acquisition is subject to approval from the Spanish Antitrust Authority.

Sales mainly consist of ABAC branded piston and screw compressor equipment and parts. The acquisition offers a good opportunity for Atlas Copco to grow customer relationships within the framework of its brand portfolio strategy.
Around eight employees will join the Atlas Copco organization in Spain from ABAC Catalunya as a result of the deal. The ABAC Catalunya business will be incorporated into Aire Comprimido Industrial Iberia, S.L.
