Your Role

Purpose / Mission

As Technology Lead/ SME of Codesys for PLC competence, your mission is to guide and lead the PLC team of Global Engineering Centre of Atlas Copco for expert level advice and solution on Codesys and Beckhoff programming platform. Also lead the technological advancement and drive the innovative solution in line with latest trend and customer expectation to become and remain preferred partner for PLC related services and solutions.

Be a Technological expert for team and/or customer to provide long term sustainable and effective solution based on latest tools and technology available

You shall achieve this, by driving Innovation and adoption of emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Focus

• Understand customer expectations and provide solution and/or guide team engineers to provide solution using latest tools and features available on Codesys and Beckhoff
• Should be first point of contact for any kind of issues or technical analysis on Codesys and Beckhoff
• Explore possibility new services which PLC team can offer using Codesys and Beckhoff and lead for successful customer engagement.
• Prepare 3 Year Competency Road map and lead to achieve service of excellence

Innovation Focus

• Front runner in Innovation and adoption of emerging technologies - Be up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and drive innovation to stay ahead in the game
• Take lead and developed culture in PLC team to provide out of box / innovative solution
• Promote Cross-Pollination of the technologies by representing GECIA at various internal and external Technology forums

Operational Excellence

• Optimize current programming methodology/ structure for improved quality and delivery time
• Enhance customer experience by implementing best practices

People Focus

• Coach and guide PLC engineers for any technical issues and/or innovative control system solution in line with/ beyond customer expectation
• Develop culture of out of way thinking and guide for same

Experience & Knowledge Requirements: -

• Expertise and programming experience on all Codesys software platforms along with Professional Developer Edition Tools
• Familiar and hands on experience with all features available with Codesys, TwinCAT etc.
• Should be able to provide best possible solution for complex project requirement with Codesys, TwinCAT etc. in line with /beyond customer expectation
• Working knowledge of PLC/ HMI Programming like Beckhoff, Sabo, Turk, Messung and different embedded controllers etc.
• Experience on optimizing control performance with improvising in Coding methodology and its structure
• Handled Technological transformation and/or worked with, multiple programming software
• OOP design and application plus support procedural scripts and legacy solutions [C#, C++, Java, Python, ST].
• Proven example of learning new technologies and resulted in new customer engagement
• Experience of working in an agile/ Scrum Methodology
• PLC control system programming experience using IE 61131 Structure Text 
• Continuously innovate the ideas to improve the Quality aspect of engineering & Programming.
• Independently executed multiple complex projects for multiple PCs /Divs
• Knowledge and experience of handling/configuration of various communication protocols.
• Working knowledge with version control tool like: Tortoise SVN, Git etc
• Co-ordination with client / consultants and suppliers for technical discussions and workout optimal control solution
• Implementation of best practices and processes in programming/coding for optimized control, improved quality and delivery time
• Study the requirement specification to develop Design Specification and Test Plan.
• Working experience on Regression test, Azure CI/CD Pipeline

Good to have: -

• Knowledge field instruments like sensors, transmitters, controller (embedded and/or other PLCs), valves.
• Working knowledge of various other PLCs like Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Omron, B&R hardware & PLC/HMI/SCADA programming in all languages (STL, FBD, Ladder etc).
• Working knowledge of motion control applications and Robotics programming
• Various product knowledge like Vacuum pumps and their systems, Industrial tools, Compressor, Robotics etc.    
• Knowledge on Cyber security related to controls system.
• Should have independently handled onsite support activities like FAT/SAT/Commissioning for PLC/Embedded controller-based control System.
• Domestic/ Overseas travel experience and comfortable with it.

 
To succeed, you will need  

Educational and Experience Requirements: -

BE / B Tech / M Tech/ MSc in Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation engineering / Electronics/ E & TC with Minimum 11 years of designing and programming experience in project execution in an engineering or product organisation.

Software skill requirement: -

Must be proficient in

• Programming of Codesys and TwinCAT.
• Working with OPPs and Agile/Scrum methodology
• Coding using C, C++, Java, Python
• Deep knowledge of PLC languages like STL, FBD, Ladder, CFC etc.
• Using new technologies/ features of Codesys
• Version control tools like Tortoise SVN, Git etc
