Atlas Copco has received order for the Russian pipeline industry

October 7, 2010

Stockholm, Sweden, October 7, 2010: ZAO Atlas Copco, Russia, has received an order to supply ninety units for the construction of the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas transmission system. The order value is approximately MEUR 20 (MSEK 190).
The equipment – portable compressors, dryers, boosters, lighting towers and a generator – will be used during the construction of a 1 600 kilometers long gas pipeline system from north of Sakhalin island to Vladivostok. The packages will deliver a total capacity of up to 1 230 m³/min compressed air. The order was booked in the third quarter 2010 and delivery will start in October.

“This order shows that Atlas Copco is a first choice supplier to the Russian oil and gas industry,” says Stephan Kuhn, Business Area President Compressor Technique, and continues: “The project requires equipment for pressures of up to 150 bar and that work in temperatures of minus 40 degrees Celsius.”

Atlas Copco received the order from ARGUS Pipeline Service, a well known provider of complete solutions to the Russian pipeline industry and an Atlas Copco customer since several years. ARGUS supplies technologies, equipment and materials for pipeline construction, testing, operation and repair.
