Atlas Copco opens regional distribution center in China
May 13, 2014
The distribution center is located close to the Pudong International Airport, Shanghai, China. With a foot print of 10000+ square meters, it will be the hub for the logistics activities for the Compressor Technique, Construction Technique and Industrial Technique business areas, for both the Chinese domestic market and the Asia Pacific Region. The objective is to increase customer service with a reduced total logistic cost.
"Atlas Copco's continued growth has made it necessary to build a centralized distribution center to meet the increasing supply demands of our customers," said Nico Delvaux, business area president, Atlas Copco Construction Technique. "The new facility enables us to fulfill orders much faster. This is a good example of how we continue to further invest in the emerging markets to exceed our customers' delivery expectations."
Currently 60 employees work at the premises, which were built with high environmental standards. Atlas Copco invested about MRMB19 (MSEK 18) in the new facilities.
