Atlas Copco completes Leybold vacuum acquisition

Stockholm, Sweden, September 1, 2016: Atlas Copco, a leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has completed the acquisition of the Leybold vacuum business. 

Leybold is headquartered in Cologne, Germany, has about 1 600 employees, and had revenues in 2015 of MEUR 340 (MSEK 3 150). The agreement to acquire Leybold was announced on November 20, 2015. The purchase price was based on an enterprise value of MEUR 486 (MSEK 4 520).  

The seller is OC Oerlikon Corporation AG, based in Switzerland.

Leybold’s vacuum solutions are used to create clean, particle-free environments for such applications as automotive, metallurgy, coating of microchips, and the manufacturing of analytical instruments.
